The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava
The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is a modern educational and scientific institution. Since its foundation in the year 1937, more than 159 000 students have graduated. In average, 12 000 students study at the STU every year.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering STU (FME STU)
FME STU offers high quality education which is widely recognized and respected by potential employers in Central Europe. According to companies’ interest in graduates in Slovakia, FME STU has the most desirable graduates among all engineering faculties. The Slovak economy benefits from a strong automotive industry sector which means that placements in industry are many and varied, and our students are in great demand by the major manufacturers and their component suppliers.

Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics
The graduate profile creates theoretical knowledge of rigid body mechanics, continuum mechanics, thermomechanics and hydraulics. The focus of the graduate is chosen so that it has suitable adaptabi- lity for various problems of theoretical and application character in engineering. Graduates master the analysis of structure dynamics, the synthesis and design of mechanisms and robots, the methodology of optimal dimensioning of machine parts, calculation of machine life and reliability, the theory of thermal calculations and the basics of mechatronics. He knows methods and means of engineering experiment and research in the field of applied mechanics. -
Production Systems and Quality Management with study branch: Automotive Production
Graduates of this programme have a thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering and its application in the automotive industry. Slovakia is a major automobile poducer with a 150-year tradition of mechanical engineering, enabling us to base the course content on the proven needs of this industry. The focus of the course is the asquisition of in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process in the automotive industry. Areas covered include production technologies, quality management (TQM), management and organization of production, logistics, montage and maintenance, life cycle management and recycling. Also studied are specialized areas such as noise, testing, statistical methods and social aspects of the automotive industry. The second part is focused on a product itself (a vehicle) – CAD applied car mechanics and elasticity, mechanical and hydraulic parts, construction materials. Professional experience in the industry is part of the study. Graduates of this study programme are much sought-after, not only in the job market of the automotive industry but also in many other engineering production fields.
